Pastor Jody Byrd is a native of Union, South Carolina. Pastor Byrd grew up in a single-family home with his two brothers and father. Growing up as a child, his father always spoke a word over him that the Lord told him he was a pastor.
In 1996, at the age of 24, Pastor Byrd was born again, and gave his life to the Christ. Shortly thereafter, he relocated to Charlotte, North Carolina. He joined New Birth Charlotte Missionary Baptist Church in 2004. There he served and took Minister-in-Training classes for four years. In 2008, he completed his minister in training courses and was licensed and ordained as a minister by Apostle Terrell Murphy. He was part of the deliverance team, teaching empowerment classes, and did evangelizing while a minister at New Birth.
Pastor Byrd has a heart to visit hospitals, pray for the sick for their healing, as well as visit children in children’s shelters and foster homes. Pastor Byrd also has always had a passion for prayer, warfare and deliverance since he was young. After coming to know the Lord, through the leading of the Holy Spirit, he has built an extensive library where he has been studying books on prayer, warfare and deliverance for over 12 years. During this time, he has also been following the leadership and mentorship of Archbishop Duncan Williams, the presiding Archbishop and general overseer of Action Chapel International, Accra, Ghana, which has ignited a fire in him for a stronger prayer life.
In January 2014, Pastor Byrd joined and submitted under the ministry of Action Chapel Virginia, Dr. Bishop Kibby Otoo, presiding. Not long after joining ACV, Pastor Byrd accepted the calling of the Lord to pastor, and started the preparation to launch Action Chapel Charlotte. He has been leading a prayer line and teaching prayer, warfare and deliverance classes.
Pastor Jody Byrd is married to LeShaunda Byrd. They have a blended family and are the parents of four children: BraShawn, DaQuan, Jasmine and Azariya.
